Is there an age limit?

All persons must be 5 years of age or older.

Do you need to know how to swim?

YES!!! Everyone is required to know how to swim well in order to get on the river. The water can get up to 10 ft deep.

What time is your booking for?

You can arrive any time after 10:00 am, and on most days until 1:30 pm. Please make sure to check our home page the day you are planning on visiting to check if there are any changes in times.

Can we rent extra tubes?

Yes, we have cooler tubes available to rent for $25. You can add the additional tube the day that you arrive. If we run out of cooler tubes, closed tubes are available as well.

Are paddles necessary?

Paddles are absolutely helpful! The river does tend to push you to the sides where there are fallen branches and rocks, so paddles are very useful in navigating the river. We rent out paddles for $5.

Which payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards, cash, and Apple pay.

How cold is the water?

Water is released from the bottom of Buford Dam and is approximately 50-55 degrees Fahrenheit. We suggest renting the closed tubes for those sensitive to cold water.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Most of our customers wear swimsuits. However, any comfortable clothes that can get wet will work. We also recommend flip flops or river shoes.

How long is the float down the river?

The 4 mile float take between 3-4 hours depending on river flow rate.

Is the drop off and pick up in the same location?

For the 4 mile float, the office/where you park at is located at 4349 Abbots Bridge Road. We then shuttle you approximately 4 minutes up the road to Abbotts Bridge Park where you will enter the water. You then float 3-4 hours down the river and get off at Medlock Bridge Park. Once you are out of the water, a shuttle will pick you up and bring you back to the office.

Are food and drink allowed on the river?

Yes. Food and drinks are allowed to be brought on the river. That being said, no glass or styrofoam is allowed. Park Rangers will issue fines to anyone with glass or styrofoam on the river.

Rule of thumb: What goes on the river must come off the river.

Is there wildlife on the river?

Yes. You will see fish, turtles, and birds on the river. These are wild animals so please be sure to leave them alone and observe from a distance.

Do you have parking on sight?

You can bring your own kayak. There is a $30 shuttle fee.

Can you bring your dog?

Absolutely! Dogs are welcome, but are required to have their own tube, no matter the size.
